LEGAL OFFICER for Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union
For over two decades INTERIGHTS has pursued the legal protection of
international human rights through strategic litigation, training,
publications and outreach work. We have built a world wide reputation
for leadership in this work and are looking for a Legal Officer to
continue and develop our CEE/fSU programme
As part of an experienced team you will implement INTERIGHTS' current
programme of work in the region, assess new opportunities for the legal
protection of human rights, both within and outside the region, and
identify potential partner organisations for collaborative work and
funding support. You will provide legal advice to partners, draft legal
briefs in cases in which INTERIGHTS intervenes, and design and implement
regional projects on key human rights themes.
This is a rewarding and challenging role and you will have a sound
knowledge of and professional experience in the application of
international human rights and comparative law within the region. You
will have a minimum of two years' directly related experience in
litigation. Fluency in English is essential, and a good understanding of
at least one language of the region is desirable.
Salary is in accordance with skills and experience, and ranges from ?25
- ?30,000 p.a. (under review). We will assist you with relocation and
provide a 5% contribution towards a pension.
