29-31 October 2009: the annual Partnership for Diversity-conference
(PfD) �The relationship between transmission of cultures and the
transmission of languages�. The organisators are the Mercator Research
Centre, in close co-operation with the Council of Europe and the EBLUL.
This conference is aimed at policy decision makers from countries and
EU-regions with multilingualism policies, and will precede the final
performance of Liet-Lavlut on 31 October (also in Ljouwert/ Leeuwarden).

29-30 October 2009: new conference of Identity, Europe and the
Mediterranean in Barcelona.. The conference is organized by CIEMEN, the
Institute for Catalan Studies (IEC) and Historia Gruppo Studi Storici e
Sociali Pordenone (Friuli, Italy), and will deal with the linguistic,
political, economic, social and religious realities of the Mediterranean
basin. Focus will be on languages such as Sardinian, Friulian, Cypriot
Arabic and Hebrew.
