EU-Commission supports FUEN network with circa 500.000 Euro

Together with five partners FUEN applied for three-year funding for a
language network and received this grant. The network will predominantly
focus on the small and smallest languages in Europe.

FUEN-Secretariat in Flensburg enlarged � new director and new head of
office

With Susann Schenk (Sorb) as head of office and Jan Diedrichsen (German
from Denmark) as director the FUEN-secretariat in Flensburg enlarged its
staff.

Presidium-visit to Carinthia � meeting with minorities and with the
governor

The presidium of FUEN informed itself in Carinthia, Austria about the
situation of the Carinthian Slovenes. The representatives of FUEN met
many representatives of the minorities and also the new governor.

Minorities with seat in the DH-MIN-committee in Strasbourg

The minority committee of the state representatives at the Council of
Europe DH-MIN granted FUEN an observer seat. FUEN president Hans
Heinrich Hansen represented the European minorities at the latest
meeting.
