The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights presents its
compliments to non-governmental organisations and has the honour to
inform that the sixth session of the Intergovernmental Working Group on
the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of
Action, will take place from 21 January to 1 February 2008 at the United
Nations Office in Geneva, Palais des Nations, Conference Room XXI.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is pleased to
inform non-governmental organisations that the session will start at
10.00 a.m. on Monday, 21 January 2008 and will begin with the election
of a new Chairperson-Rapporteur to fill the vacancy left by Ambassador
Juan Martabit of Chile.

A draft programme of work of the Working Group is to be developed
following the election of the Chair.
Non-governmental organizations that have consultative status with the
Economic and Social Council and non-governmental organizations that were
accredited for the World Conference against Racism are welcome to attend
the session. Interested Non-governmental organizations are invited to
communicate the names of their representatives who will attend the
session only by fax +41 22 928 90 50 on letterhead, signed by the
appropriate official of the organization.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights seizes this
opportunity to renew to non-governmental organisations in Geneva the
assurance of its highest
consideration.
