Dear friends,
We are contacting you again to let you know about recent developments in
EU funding possibilities, in the hope that the ADUM project can become a
reference resource for organisations and institutions wishing to
undertake actions or projects where regional and minority languages are
involved (see news below).
� The EU Culture Programme

currently calling for proposals on different sectors and actions. In
this regard, it is worth mentioning the call for Multi-annual
Co-operation Projects

(projects lasting from three to five years), the call for Cooperation
projects (max. 24 months) regarding Support for cultural actions

and an Operating grant for Organisations active at European Level in the
field of Culture regarding the Support for bodies active at European
level in the field of culture

� The Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD)

has recently been launched. The NPLD was established at the end of 2007
with the aim of facilitating the sharing of existing best practice and
the development of new and innovative ideas in the field of language
planning in all linguistic domains amongst Europe's less widely used
languages. Co-funded by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning
Programme over the course of three years, the Network encompasses
autochthonous European regional, indigenous, cross-border and smaller
state languages to promote meaningful linguistic diversity in the
context of a multilingual Europe. The NPLD comprises two levels of
membership - full and associate members - full members include Estonia
(Dept. of Language Policy, Ministry of Education), the Welsh Language
Board, and Ireland (Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht
Affairs). The public launching of the network was held in Brussels on
Wednesday June 11th, in the presence of Commissioner Leonard Orban, and
held its first Assembly the following day. The network aims to design
high equality project proposals, with organisations both within and
without the present membership (which less widely-used language
organisations are invited to apply to join) and to seek EU or other
funding.

The Adum team welcome the NPLD, wish it every success, and hope to be

� The new ADUM's Blog Forum <http://aduminfo.blogspot.com/>, recently
set up in order to offer its users the possibility to engage in
collaborative discussions regarding EU co-funded projects with the
presence of any European minority language, is open to all organisations
or individuals willing to post possible items for debate, search for
partners, offer information on your own project proposals, etc.
� The ADUM website will soon display a new set of Case Studies
<http://www.adum.info/app/adum/web/05_proposals/case_studies.jsp> to
complement those currently available, in order to give updated
information on successfully funded projects under the new generation of
EU programmes

Throughout the last few months the ADUM team has searched for projects
involving minority languages which have succeeded in obtaining EU
funding.
We hope that the above information has been useful for you and we kindly
