Combating racism while respecting freedom of expression
ECRI has the pleasure to announce the release of the proceedings of its
expert seminar on �Combating racism while respecting freedom of
expression�, which was held on 16 � 17 November 2006 in Strasbourg.
The aim of the seminar was to look at how to combat racism while
respecting freedom of expression in multicultural societies, and which
legal and policy measures, in line with existing human rights standards,
are the most appropriate to achieve this aim.
The rich and knowledgeable contributions of a diverse group of
participants allowed a deep insight into this topic and ECRI hopes that
the publication of the proceedings of this seminar will help further the
debate on this important issue in Europe.
