Dear All,
This is to inform you about the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the new
review mechanism established by the Human Rights Council in Resolution
5/1 of 18 June 2007 and the ways relevant stakeholders, including NGOs,
National Human Rights Institutions, Human rights defenders, Academic
Institutions and Research Institutes, as well as civil society
representatives can contribute to the State review under this new
mechanism.
A preliminary Information Note, as well as complementary suggested
guidelines aimed at informing and guiding stakeholders on the UPR, are
currently available on-line on the OHCHR website:

Kindly note that the Information Note is currently available in several
UN languages on the website; the suggested guidelines are in the process
of being translated.
