TRANSCEND Training Programmes
www.transcend.org/training
In 2006 TRANSCEND has continued to increase the scope and range of its
training programmes world-wide. More than 90% of TRANSCEND's trainings
are provided upon request after invitations from governments, national
and international organizations and universities. The remainder are
organized at TRANSCEND's sites and centers world-wide. If you would like
to organize a TRANSCEND training programme in your country/community,
please contact TRANSCEND Co-Director Kai Jacobsen at
[email protected]. To see up-coming training programmes you can
visit the new TRANSCEND Training Programmes web-site at
www.transcend.org/training. In this circular we include information on a
new TRANSCEND training programme scheduled for March 6 - 10, 2006, on
methods, tools and approaches for peacebuilding and reconciliation in
divided communities, drawing from real examples and practical lessons
learned and experiences around the world.
Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Divided Communities (RPDC 2006)
Cluj-Napoca, Romania, March 6 - 10, 2006
www.transcend.org/training
A five-days international programme with participants from Latin
America, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America
Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Divided Communities is a five-days
intensive training programme and interactive workshops for
practitioners, local authorities, community and religious leaders,
government, media, businesses, and non-governmental organizations
working in diverse communities and communities affected by conflict. The
programme draws upon concrete experiences in working in diverse
communities from North America, Central and South America, Eastern and
Western Europe, Africa and Asia.
Building upon the TRANSCEND approach to conflict transformation,
Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Divided Communities goes in-depth
into methods, approaches and tools for peacebuilding and conflict
transformation in intra- and inter-community conflicts. Exploring the
role of civil society organizations, the media, schools, local
authorities, religious and community groups, government and business,
the programme will draw on practical examples, best practices, and
lessons learned, providing a space for participants to draw upon their
own experiences and to address the issues and challenges facing them in
their work and communities, while looking at constructive and effective
approaches to conflict transformation, peacebuilding and reconciliation.
Please forward this information to individuals, organizations and
agencies you think may wish to take part.
