For Diversity - Against Discrimination

29 September 2005

Information on anti-discrimination in my country

The Europe-wide information campaign For Diversity.Against
Discrimination has launched new national flyers in each of the 25 EU
member states, informing people about anti-discrimination issues
specific to their own country and in their own national languages.

They contain information on national anti-discrimination legislation,
examples of discrimination and contact details for organisations
offering support to people subject to discrimination. The flyers were
developed by steering groups at national level, including NGOs, social
partners and government representatives.

Age discrimination new study

What legal protection is available to protect people against age
discrimination? When is age discrimination allowed under European
legislation? What do the laws say about pensions, insurance and
retirement ages? These are just some of the many issues dealt with in a
new report published by the European Commission. The 50-page report was
written by Colm OCinneide the UK member of the network of independent
legal experts, which is funded by the Community Action Programme to
combat discrimination. The report is currently available in English,
with German and French translations following shortly.
