THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE ADOPTS OPINIONS
ON MALTA, ROMANIA AS WELL AS ON KOSOVO
Strasbourg 28.11.2005 - The Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for
the Protection of National Minorities adopted two country-specific opinions
last week under the second cycle of monitoring the implementation of this
convention in States Parties. The opinions adopted relate to Malta and Romania.
The Advisory Committee also adopted an opinion on the implementation of the
Framework Convention in Kosovo in accordance with the agreement signed on 23
August 2004 by UNMIK and the Council of Europe related to the monitoring of
this Council of Europe Treaty.
These three opinions will now be submitted to the Committee of Ministers, which
is to adopt conclusions and recommendations.

PS. For technical reasons, the links to the 2nd cycle opinions and background
information on Kosovo (Agreement, UNMIK report etc) cannot be made and will be
