Call for proposals from Roma NGOs/Training on race equality legislation  
  
Under the Community Action Programme to combat discrimination, the
European Commission has launched a new call for proposals targeted at a
European level non-governmental organisations representing and defending
the rights of Roma people.  Organisations must have national members
from at least five countries (EU Member States, Candidate Countries,
Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).  Successful candidates will receive
financial support towards their operating costs.

Training opportunities on using European race equality legislation

The transnational project SOLID - Strategies on Litigation Tackling
Discrimination in EU Countries � is calling for applications to
participate in a European training programme aimed at achieving the
effective transposition and implementation of the European Union Racial
Equality Directive and Employment Framework Directive through
empowerment, capacity building and partnership. 

Two pilot training seminars will be held in 2005 in Brussels and
Budapest.  Four further trainings in different European regions will be
organised in 2006.  Further information on the content of the training
and the criteria for selection is available on the project website.
