DISNEY USES WELSH IN WINNIE THE POOH

The Welsh language will be featured in a live Disney show for the first
time. The Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh show will be staged at Cardiff-s
recently opened Millennium Centre. Welsh-language children-s television
presenter Martin Geraint will appear in the show and he will teach some
Welsh words to the presenter Tracie Franklin.
CZECH PRESIDENT KLAUS REJECTS HUMANITARIAN GESTURE TOWARDS GERMAN
MINORITY

In an interview with the German daily "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung"
on Tuesday, Czech president Vaclav Klaus rejected a gesture of goodwill
towards members of the remaining German minority in the Czech Republic.
Mr Klaus said that "this was not a topic of discussion in the Czech
Republic today".
CONSENSUS CONFERENCE: 20 ADDITIONAL SLOVENE-GERMAN BILINGUAL SIGNS AND

At the Vienna "Consensus Conference" on Sunday, the Carinthian
government and various Carinthian community organizations, representing
the Slovene minority and other interest groups, agreed to put up an
additional 20
bilingual signs in southern Carinthia.
IRISH CHANNEL BUYS WELSH LEARNERS- SERIES FORMAT

The format for cariad@iaith (love4language), the Welsh language reality
television show which follows celebrities as they start learning the
language, has been sold to Irish-language broadcaster TG4.
