The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights presents its
compliments to Non-Governmental Organizations, and would like to invite
them to a panel discussion to commemorate the International Day for the
Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The panel will take place on 21
March 2005 from 13.00 to 15.00 in Room XXI of the Palais des Nations. 

The theme of the panel is "Discrimination and hate crimes: countering
the violence of intolerance."
The following panellists have accepted our invitation to participate in
the discussion:

- Mr. Doudou Di?+ne (Senegal), Special Rapporteur of the Commission on
Human Rights on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination,
xenophobia and related intolerance;

- Ms. Nimalka Fernando, (Sri Lanka), President of the International
Movement against Racial Discrimination (IMADR)

- Ms. Fran??oise Pinzon Gil (France), Programme Specialist, Division of
Human Rights and Fight against Discrimination, UNESCO, Paris.
