The Institute for Specialised Communication and Multilingualism is
organizing a conference on �Lesser Used Languages & Computer
Linguistics� to be held on October 27 -28 2005.
The aim of the conference is to provide an overview of the state of the
art in research on lesser-used languages, with special reference to
their computational support.
Central to the conference are methodological issues such as:
* strategies for the effective support of lesser used languages,
* problems with theoretical approaches developed for major languages
when applied to lesser used languages, and
* the cultural, economical and political specificity of user groups for
which computational resources are created.
Furthermore, the conference intends to promote networking among
participants in order to enhance the exchange of information, experience
and resources.
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 28 February 2005
Notification of acceptance: 15 April 2005
Please send your abstract (between 300 and 500 words) for a 30-minute
presentation (including time for questions) as a PDF attachment to our
e-mail address: [email protected]. In the body of your e-mail
message, please indicate the following information:
