STATEMENT

Akhiskian  ( Meskhetian ) Turks, living in Azerbaijan, congratulate the
Georgian people on the gained victory in strife for the right on free
will and for a further development of democracy in the country.

We specially are pleased with that due to wisdom shown by all parties,
unknown in the all history of the Georgian state political crisis was
overcome peacefully, and our historical land has managed to avoid
bloodshed and civil confrontation fraught with unpredictable
consequences for the future of country.

We also give due to the actions of the former president of Georgia,
E.Shevardnadze, who has found bravery to leave office for the shake of
the people and promote to the peacefully solution of the extremely
complex political situation created in the country after election held
on November 2, 2003.

We mention here with enthusiasm that in this difficult situation
Georgia's people has demonstrated the civil dignity and maturity in
persistent and peacefully claim for their constitutional rights.

We are convinced that continuing movement of the republic of Georgia on
paths of construction of a modern system of the state structure obeying
to the supremacy of law and the civil society, grounded on respect and
inviolability of human rights, further anybody and nothing can stop.

We sincerely wish, that such historical factor, as a multinational land,
would transform from loosening to the strengthening factor in the
consolidating of the Georgian statehood, and that Georgia became the
unified, reliable and desired house for all peoples living in  Georgia.

We realize, that these days the republic of Georgia experiences one of
the hardest and accountable moments from the date of recovery of its
independence.

We consider that for the solution of complex problems existing in
country, today our historical land, as never requires political
repeatability and consolidation of all citizens of Georgia, irrespective
of political views, place of residency and nationality. We are always
ready to encourage this purpose within reasonably limits of ours
capabilities and forces.

Akhiskian Turks living in Azerbaijan, wish Georgian people, in  united
family in which we see our future, happiness and prosperity in
sovereign, is territorial integrated, politically stable and
economically self-sufficient state.
