ERRC Job Announcement: International Advocacy Officer
The European Roma Rights Center seeks to hire an International Advocacy
Officer to work in its Budapest office. The International Advocacy
Officer would work in the framework of the ERRC Programmes Unit,
International Advocacy Department, and would be responsible inter alia
for:
- Writing and presenting ERRC advocacy submissions to intergovernmental
bodies;
- Communicating ERRC international advocacy strategy goals to Romani
activists and other members of the Romani communities, as well as
seeking input from members of Romani communities as to ERRC
international advocacy strategies;
- Identifying and keeping relevant ERRC staff apprised of advocacy
opportunities available before domestic and international bodies;
- Implementing ERRC international advocacy policy.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Extensive knowledge of and familiarity with issues facing Roma and
Romani communities;
- Familiarity with international human rights law and intergovernmental
bodies relevant to human rights issues in Europe;
- A university degree, preferably in law, human rights, political
science or a related humanities or social science field.
Optional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Romani language;
- Previous experience in human rights;
- Working knowledge of French.
Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience
