MINELRES: Portugal ratifies the Framework Convention

Portugal ratifies the Framework Convention for the Protection of
National Minorities

STRASBOURG, 07.05.2002 - Portugal today ratified the Framework
Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. Ambassador Paulo
CASTILHO, Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of
Europe, handed the instruments of ratification of this text to Hans
Christian KR�GER, Deputy Secretary General of the Organisation.

The Framework Convention will enter into force for Portugal on 1st
September 2002.
