Cancellation of CISDER Summer Course 2002

The Organizing Committee of CISDER ("Centre for International Studies
on Democracy and Ethnic Relations") is sorry to announce the
cancellation of the CISDER Summer Course 2002.

The political situation in Denmark has changed over the last 6 months,
and the strategy of financial support to the Central and East European
Countries has recently been changed by the Department of Foreign
Affairs. This alteration of the financial support strategy has caused
the CISDER Summer Course 2002 severe difficulties, and unfortunately
the CISDER Organizing Committee has not managed to secure additional
funding from alternative financial sources. Since the CISDER
Organizing Committee can't guarantee to find the necessary altenative
funding prior to the scheduled Summer Course 2002, the CISDER
Organizing Committee has thus decided to cancel the Summer Course in
due time. However, the CISDER Organizing Committee is determined to
continue the search for financial support, and looks forward to issue
a new "Call for Application" in the year 2003. The 2003 "Call for
Application" will be available on the internet in the early spring of
2003. 

The CISDER Organizing Committee regrets this cancellation, and would
like to thank everyone who took an interest in the Summer Course, and
those who applied to participate. In the meantime the CISDER
Organizing Committee will work hard to secure the launch of the Summer
Course 2003. The CISDER Organizing Committee looks forward to supply
the Summer Course 2003, and hope to receive many applications.
