Dear Farimah Daftary,
 
There is no specific evidence that individuals belonging to these
groups have been discriminated against in Romania.
 
The first meeting of the Romanian-Ukrainian Intergovernmental
Commission for national minority problems took place on Nov 10-11 in
Bucharest and the two delegations decided to establish a working group
that will produce a full report on the situation of the Ukrainians in
Romania, and Romanians in Ukraine, respectively.
 
I am not aware of any such Commission regarding the Russian minority,
as there is no new basic treaty with Russia.
 
Both minorities are represented by one MP each in the Romanian Chamber
of Deputies - so the two MPs should be a reliable information source
on such matters. Neither has a known e-mail account.
