New book on NGOs in Moldova
        
The BIOTICA Ecological Society of Moldova has published a book "How and Why
NGOs are Created" (Kishinev, 1997, 116 pages) in conjunction with a project
sponsored by the Eurasia Foundation and USAID. The book is available in both
Russian and Moldovan and contains the results of a survey regarding the
third sector and non-governmental organizations given to the general public,
government agencies and NGOs themselves.  The book also contains information
on NGO registration, examples of registration  documents, and other
materials of use to NGOs. The book is the first such publication in Moldova
and its release is connected with the implementation of the new law "On
Civic Associations" as well as with the revision of the tax code regarding
NGOs.
