Metropolis Europe
(ERCOMER is delighted to announce the opening from 1 September 1997 of the
European arm of the International Secretariat for the Metropolis Project..

Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies
(As previously announced, New Community will enter a new phase of its life
with the first issue of Volume 24 in January 1998. The journal will be re-
titled to become the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS)...)
Multicultural Europe 2000
(The first lecture in this series, `National identity, European identity
and the future of Multicultural Europe', was given by Bhikhu Parekh on 10
June in Utrecht...)
Citizenship workshop
(ERCOMER expects to be hosting a small workshop in early March 1998
examining comparative approaches to the study of citizenship and related
issues...)

next summer school which we expect will take place in Spain in May 1998...)
