On-line: MMCP Innovative Practice database updated
LGI Managing Multiethnic Communities Project (MMCP)
Innovative Practice Database
http://lgi.osi.hu/ethnic/csdb/
LGI MMCP is pleased to announce that its on-line innovative practice
database has been recently updated. The update includes more than
thirty new entries from SEE, CEE, Estern Europe, Caucasus and Central
Asia. Further new entries will be uploaded soon.
The innovative practice database contains more than 150 case studies
on innovative practices in the field of community relations in
multiethnic environment and local initiatives for ethnic conflict
resolution. Materials included are written by contributors to the case
study writing project of Managing Multiethnic Communities Project
(MMCP) of LGI. The aim of this database is to provide researchers,
activists and public officials with a forum to share their experiences
in developing innovative strategies to address issues related to the
management of multiethnic communities. In the spring 2000, LGI
Managing Multiethnic Communities Project and the Center for European
Migration and Ethnic Studies (CEMES) www.cemes.org have engaged into a
partnership to update and maintain the database of case studies on
innovative practices in the field of community relations in
multiethnic environment and local initiatives for ethnic conflict
resolution. Recent entries are the first results of this partnership.
LGI MMCP and CEMES invite officials in public administration,
activists in the non-governmental sphere, as well as researchers,
scholars or other experts to visit the database at
http://lgi.osi.hu/ethnic/csdb/
We are also inviting experts involved in various innovative local
policies to accommodate ethnic diversity at the community level to
share information on their experiences and to submit case files to
enrich further the database.
In order to submit your information on good practices in the field of
managing multiethnic communities or your feedback, please contact
