To whom it may concern,
 
I'm going to edit a book on the Laz, who live mainly in Turkey, but
also in the former Soviet Union.

I'm looking for a competent person to write an article about the
deportation of the Laz from Batumi area and Abkhazia to Sibirya/
Central Asia in 1944 and 1949. Since I guess that not very much
sources exist on that matter the article could be short, but should be
in English.

I'm interested in the reasons why the Laz were deported, under which
circumstances, where they were sent (if possible exactly the places),
the number of deportees, when and how many of them returned and how
many still remain in exile and where.

Maybe someone could tell some details, but is not prepared to write an
article - I would be thankful for any hint or information about that
subject.
