An open letter from the CHC to the authorities regarding the
Marinkovic family case

The CHC has sent an open letter to the President of the Croatian
Parliament (Sabor), Vlatko Pavletic, the Prime Minister, Zlatko Matea
and the mayor of the city of Knin, Josip Odak due to the situation
surrounding the sixteen-member Marinkovic family who are still unable
to move into their house in Knin.

Priest creates disorder in Udbina and misguides the populace

After having returned (upon receiving permission from the Croatian
authorities) from refuge in the FR of Yugoslavia, Croatian citizen of
Serb ethnicity, N.J., found that the Catholic Parish office in Udbina
and the flat of the local parish priest was located in his house in
Udbina.

Public pressure downs elite salaries: The President was hasty

Following the brouhaha which was brought on by the increase in
salaries of state officials, an even greater commotion arose from the
suggestion of the President of the Republic, Dr. Franjo Tudman, that
the application of the decision to raise salaries be delayed.

Those with homosexual tendencies not allowed to serve in the
Croatian Army?

Croatian citizen A.P. has approached the Croatian Helsinki Committee
for help in protecting his rights after he was released from his
mandatory military service in the Croatian army and banned from
applying for re-instatement for two years due to an illness which
was diagnosed after having, in confidence, informed his commanding
officer about his sexual orientation.
