Minority languages and geography
This is to introduce our website GeoNative, a amateur Internet
resource dedicated to geography, with a very particular focus:
minority languages and placenames. It is at:
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/9479
Also shortcut through:
http://geonative.home.ml.org
Languages and place names from little nations, native cultures and
minority languages almost never appear in the maps. Geography ignores
us. GeoNative provides listings of placenames and maps for several
native and minority languages, from Breton to Uzbek or Mari.
We have extensive information about languages and minorities of the
former Soviet Union at
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/9479/sov2.html
Also about other minorities of Eastern Europe, as, for example,
Hungarian minorities outside Hungary at
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/9479/magyar.html
We hope to add more information in the future about so many minorities
not listed yet in our site. Comments, suggestions and contributions
will be appreciated. Any feedback please to our personal mail:
mailto:[email protected] or mailto:[email protected]
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Luistxo Fernandez, Euskal Herria (Basque Country)
