"40-TH PARALLEL" ORGANIZATION FOR PLURALISM OF OPINION

We are glad to inform you that a new NGO called "40-th PARALLEL"
ORGANIZATION FOR PLURALISM OF OPINION has been established in
Azerbaijan. This organization is called so because Azerbaijan is
situated on the 40-th Parallel. So we are looking forward to the
future of our republic. Our country after collapse of the Soviet Union
is facing a lot of troubles connected with refugees, IDPs (internally
displaced people), orphans, ethnic minorities etc. "40-th PARALEL" is
a local humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization
seeking a better resolution for conflicts, better education for
children and youth in the framework of ethnicity and discrimination,
peace education and intolerance. "40-PARALLEL" also seeks to achieve a
better understanding between people of different nationalities and
promote cross-cultural contacts. We are also highly motivated in the
co-operation with other NGOs in Azerbaijan. Our interest is a raise in
a living standard in our society and we are very eager to help to the
beneficiaries of our future projects. They are as follows: refugees
and IDPs, refugee-children, disabled, children in the boarding
schools, ethnic minorities etc.

"40 parallel' is dedicated to reducing human suffering in Azerbaijan.
The main aims of '40th parallel" are as follows:
Conflict resolution, peace education, human rights protection;
Demining services;
Gender issues;
Youth and children

It also:
1. Serve the needs of the most vulnerable, particularly woman and
children, victims of natural disasters, civil conflicts etc in
Azerbaijan;
2. Promote self-reliance, peaceful coexistence and reintegration of
vulnerable groups;
3. Empower communities through capacity building and by maximizing
local resources in program design and implementation.

All members of the organization have experience of work in
humanitarian area and attended different trainings. So we hope in
co-operation with your organization. "40-PARALLEL" is also interested
in participation in all seminars and workshops, training sessions held
by your organization etc. We are also hoping that we could rely on
your help in implementing our future projects.
