Language requirements for officials in Georgia's Javakhk
OFFICIALS OF ARMENIAN ORIGIN IN GEORGIA'S JAVAKHK TO MASTER GEORGIAN
NOT TO BE RELIEVED OF THEIR POSTS
YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS
The special representative of Georgia's president in Samtskhe-Javakhk
province Gigla Baramidze demanded that all officials of the province
who are not ethnic Georgians have good knowledge of Georgian,
Georgia's Prime News agency reported.
Speaking to a meeting of provincial leadership, the special
representative said that all officials will have three years ahead of
them to master the language. Otherwise, in accordance with Georgia's
constitution, they will be relieved of their positions.
Samtskhe-Javakhk province, located in the south of Georgia, is
predominantly inhabited by ethnic Armenians.
