New publication on former Yugoslavia
Dear friends and colleagues,
A new collection of documents on the former Yugoslavia entitled
"Former Yugoslavia Through Documents: From its dissolution to the
peace settlement" has just been published by Kluwer Law International.
It is an epilogue to the first collection "Yugoslavia Through
Documents: From its creation to its dissolution" (published by
Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, in 1994), however, because of the
complexity of the issues in the political, military, humanitarian and
legal fields, its structure is different. The book contains 1346 and
is divided into an Introduction and nine Parts dealing with specific
issues and containing, where appropriate, the Editor's note, comment
or additional information. The brief Table of Contents is as follows:
INTRODUCTION: Why did the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
Disintegrate?
PART I: Developments before the Dayton Peace Agreement
Chapter 1: Political process
Chapter 2: Military aspects and peace-keeping operation(s)
PART II: Dayton Peace Agreement
PART III: Implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement
PART IV: Croatia
Chapter 1: Settlement in Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western
Sirmium
Chapter 2: The Prevlaka Issue
PART V: Kosovo
PART VI: Macedonia
PART VII: International Sanctions
PART VIII: Human Rights Situation, War Crimes and Humanitarian Law
PART IX: The Succession Issue(s)
