Re: CEU-IPV Advanced Course for Trainers on Human Rights
Dear all,
On May 27, information about the CEU-IPV Advanced Course for Trainers
on Human Rights was posted to the list. Many of you requested the full
text of the information booklet. Some points in the announcement
looked somewhat unusual (I mentioned this in very brief comments when
sending the booklet to some subscribers who requested it).
I believe I should inform you that I also received some strongly
negative opinion about the course and its organizers. Of course, I
cannot judge myself for I am not aware of the details of this
undertaking. I am just forwarding this information to you, like I did
with the initial announcement. If anybody knows more on the matter, it
would make sense to share it with other subscribers.
Though not stated overtly, I hope it is apparent that the moderator
cannot be responsible for the content of every MINELRES posting - I
simply cannot thoroughly check all of them... I just try to follow
some guidlines to a considerable extent prompted by Laszlo Kurti,
Christian Wellmann, Jekaterina Dorodnova and other subscribers who
took part in the discussion caused by the MIC commentary on the report
about Bulgarians in Macedonia posted on March 1 (new subscribers can
have a look at those points in the list archive, March 1998).
Basically, I do decline submissions which may be perceived as hate
speech, insult or the like; if the content is marginal or not relevant
to the list's theme; and if the posting is too lengthy (in the latter
case, as a rule, the text is offered by request). Yet, because of the
delicate nature of the subject, it is not always easy to take a proper
decision... Of course, any advice, comments or critical notes on the
moderator's work will be highly appreciated.
Boris
