The following is an unnoficial translation of a press release from 2
internet providers from Belgrade.  Please try to verify the validity
of this potential threat.

Public Announcement
Belgrade, 12 May 1999
 
We have been informed that the American government has ordered the
proprietors of satellites which transmit internet communications to
cut their lines to Yugoslavia.
 
The elimination of links could take place as early as tonight, May 12,
and at the latest on May 13.
 
This action is a gross violation of agreements signed with Yu.
internet service providers and represents an attack on the freedom of
spech on the Internet.
 
We will organize a web site to protest this decision and will inform
you of the URL address of this site.  In the meantime, we ask you to
inform as many people as possible.

Obavesteni smo da je Americka vlada naredila vlasnicima satelita za
prenos Interneta da iskljuce veze prema Jugoslaviji.

Gubitak veze bi mogao da se ocekuje veceras 12.maja ili najkasnije
13.maja.

Ovaj akt grubo krsi potpisane ugovore sa YU davaocima Internet usluga
i predstavlja atak na slobodu govora na Internetu.

Mi cemo organizovati web sajt za protestovanje protiv ove odluke i
obavesticemo vas o URL-u. U medjuvremenu vas molimo da pbavestite sto
je vise ljudi moguce.
