19.04.02 - Baku
Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan has ratified administration bill "About
Modification and additions in the Code about administrative
irregularities". One more item is added to 315-1 of the Code "An
obstacle to usage of the state Language", in which has found
reflection Punishment for realization of the latent or open
propagation against the state language, resistance to its use and
development, attempts of restriction of the rights of language. In
these cases the physical persons will be fined in 20-40-time from
conditional monetary unit; The officials - in 50-90-time the size;
legal persons - in 150-300-time. As it was noted during discussions
the deputy Mais Safarli said that it was necessary application of more
serious punishments for cases of obstacles to application the state
language.
