Call for articles on racism and refugee policy


Racism and Refugee Policy
Guest Editor: Dr. Rudhramoorthy Cheran

Refuge invites contributions to an upcoming issue dedicated to Racism
and Refugee Policy. The publication of this issue will coincide with
the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, to be held in
South Africa in September 2001, and will draw upon key themes to be
addressed in that forum.

Refuge particularly invites submissions on topics including but not
limited to: comparative international perspectives on racism in
refugee policy; the intersection of racism and sexism in refugee
policy; NGO experience and expertise in developing strategic
interventions to reduce racism in refugee policy; and country-specific
articles addressing aspects of racism in policy concerning migrants.
Refuge welcomes submissions from authors inside and outside Canada,
and particularly from persons who will be participating in the UN
World Conference Against Racism.

Contributions with abstracts are invited.  They must be received by
June 15th, 2001.  Papers should be typed, double-spaced and referenced
according to the Chicago Manual of Style (see style sheet at
<http://www.yorku/crs> for details.  Papers should not exceed 30 pages
or about 7500 words. Shorter papers, book reviews and case comments
are also welcome on other issues related to forced migration.  A brief
abstract (100-150 words) and a two sentence institutional
identification of the author must be provided. All submissions must be
word processed and sent on disk or by email attachment.

On accepte aussi des articles en francais.  Le style doit conformer
aux normes exiges pour les articles rediges en anglais.
