Query: Karakachani minority?


Could you please supply me with any infomation you may have about
people known as Karakachani. They are supposed to be nomadic type
farmers/gypsies who live in Bulgaria and originally came from Greece.
Their background, their approx numbers in Bulgaria and whether they
have suffered any persecution by any of the Bulgarian governments or
quasigovernment organisation. I need this information very urgently as
I have to defend three Bulgarians claiming refugee status. They say it
is a minority group in Bulgaria not recognised by the Bulgarian
government.
