Post-Doctoral Fellowship Global Security
The Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University
announces the availability of a post doctoral fellowship beginning
July 1, 2000. The successful candidate will be a recent Ph.D. in a
social science discipline who has done extensive research on
ethnonational conflict in the post-Soviet region. The fellow will be
expected to collaborate on a research project focusing on a
comparative analysis of conflicts in the following regions: Chechnya
and Tatarstan within the Russian Federation; Ajaria and Abkhazia
within the Republic of Georgia;Crimea in Ukraine and Transdniestria in
Moldova. Knowledge of Russian and/or other languages of the region is
required. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach one
course or seminar in Brown's International Relations undergraduate
program. Applicant must have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of the
appointment. The fellowship is for one year with a possibility of
renewal depending on funding. Applicants should submit a letter
stating their primary research interests; a CV; one writing sample,
and three letters of recommendation sent to the following address:
