Minority NGOs meeting


Meeting in Legal Advice Center.
 
On February, 16 was held meeting of representatives of
non-governmental organizations of national minority of Azerbaijan
Republic with Group on National Minority. At the meeting were
presented:
 
Mohammed Asif Otaki, Vice-president of Society of Afghans;
Valentine Ivanovich Gagulya, Ataman of Kazaks;
Elmaz Ramazanova, Founder of Society of Crimean Tatars;
Nadir Kamaldinov, Chairman of Group;
Nazim Akhundov, Program Officer;
Javad Bagirov, Program Officer.
 
At the meeting were discussing the following questions:
 
1. Deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944,

2. Situation in Afghanistan.
 
At the meeting were accepted the following decisions:
 
1. Organization of the Conference "Deported nations", where will be
discussed the problems of Crimean Tatars and Meskhetian Turks.
Conference will be held on 24 February 1999.

2. Exhibition "National Variety of Azerbaijan" will take place in
March of 1999.

3. Creation of National Minorities Library.
