Notes about the contributors:
Evangelos Karagiannis is a social anthropologist. He has specialized
in the study of nationalism, ethnicity, and minority issues,
particulalrly in the Balkans. Since 1994 he has been working with the
Pomaks of Bulgaria. He is the author of "Zur Ethnizitat der Pomaken
Bulgariens" which is based on extended fieldwork in the Central
Rhodopes (particulalrly in the regions of Smolyan, Madan, and
Rudozem). He lectures at the Free University of Berlin.
Yulian Konstantinov is a senior lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at
the New Bulgarian University, Sofia, and Director of The Institute for
Anthropological Field-Research (NBU)
Stilyana Mincheva is a B.A. student at the Centre for Cultural
Studies, University of Sofia, Bulgaria
