TALISH HUMAN RIGHTS PROjECT

Perhaps, the demand, which is put to the front of the Azerbaijan
Republic by the Council of Europe on the purpose of freeing political
prisons, is met uniquely in the country.

Alikram Humbatov who was accused in 1993 because of incidents happened
in Lankoran the sensation turned around showing the unreal TV shows
dissatisfied people. The popularization company carried against
A.Humbatov before the court in fact overturned against the whole
Talish people.

One of these actions was transmitted telecast in ANS TV channel in
2002, January 14. At the same date at 21.45 the vice-president of ANS
TV company Mirshahin Agayev demonstratively notified in his interview
in the telecast "Point of View" that "there is such place there must
be democracy, and there is such place there must be demography in
Azerbaijan". Here by he as if in order to prevent the A.Humbatov's
ideas implementation he stressed the necessity of decreasing in the
way of pursuit and pressure the number of Talishes living there since
centuries. One can expect that the official state structures will
absolutely react to this dangerous "declaration" and will try to
prevent the justified dissatisfaction of Talish citizens of the
country. But as we expected it didn't happen. It is a pity that
Azerbaijan government still keep silence. This is diametrically
opposite together with the common standards of International law.

Besides it in that telecast in the presented "Yeddi Ogul Istaram"
movie there are many moments touching to the self-respect of our
people, that's why we are just demanding the explanation for it.

We demand that M.Agayev in leading TV the above mentioned telecast and
at the same time he must apologize the Talish people, otherwise we
will address to International organizations.
