Training for Trainers in human rights education with young
people
Dear Friend,
We are pleased to send you enclosed the information and application
form on the training course "Training of Trainers in human rights
education with young people" which will be organised by the
Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe at the
European Youth Centre Budapest, from 2 to 10 March 2002. The forms can
also be downloaded (in English, French and Russian) from our web site:
<http://www.eycb.coe.int>
This course is a pillar in the Human Rights Education Youth Programme.
It aims to enable participants to fulfil the function of trainer and
multiplier in the field of human rights education at the national and
regional levels. It will be based on Compass, the manual on human
rights education now being finalised.
With this message I would like to ask you to disseminate this call for
applications among trainers who fulfil the profile for participants,
namely:
* Trainers active in non-formal education, especially within
youth organisations and associations, in youth work activities and in
other NGOs concerned by human rights education;
* Will be trainers in the courses planned for national or
regional level within the Human Rights Education Youth Programme
* Trainers and multipliers active within formal education
systems.
* Already have experience in working as trainers and educators
with young people;
* Be able and committed to act as multipliers or trainers for
human rights education;
* Be motivated to develop their knowledge and competence in
human rights education and to share their experiences with other
participants;
* Be able to work in English, French or Russian;
* Be committed to attend for the full duration of the course and
be supported by an organisation, institution or service
Please note that there is limited number of places available, we are
therefore looking for quality applications. The deadline for
applications is 15 January 2002.
We also welcome expressions of interest from governmental and
non-governmental institutions for the organisation of national or
regional courses in human rights education. May I also draw your
attention to the fact that the next deadline for applying for pilot
projects in Human Rights Education is 1st January. You can get further
information and forms at:
<http://www.eycb.coe.int>
We thank you in advance for your assistance in making sure that the
information reaches the most qualified candidates for this training.
I would like to take occasion to wish you all the best for the New
Year.
Antje Rothemund,
Executive Director, EYCB
