Georgian school in Ukraine
Dear friends,
I have good news.
The school on studying of Georgian language was opened in Sumy (Sumy
is a capital of the Sumskii region of Ukraine).
On the base of the common secondary school N 18 in Sumy the school on
studying of Georgian language was opened. The initiators of it's
creation were representatives of the Georgian Diaspora, who moved to
Ukraine from Georgia on the grounds of military conflicts in their
motherland.
At the moment about 70 Georgian families live in Sumy.
Children will study native language, history of Georgia, they will
learn national traditional dances, songs and in the same time will
study Ukrainian deeper than in other secondary schools of the city.
According to the information from the Department on issues of interior
policy of the Sumy State Administration, minorities of Armenia and
Azerbaijan decided to establish schools on studying of their native
languages.
With best wishes of success in your crucial and responsible
activities, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, I remain,
Laryssa Denyssenko
