ON BRINGING CERTAIN LEGISLATIVE ACTS INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW OF UKRAINE "ON NATIONAL MINORITIES IN UKRAINE"
In connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On National Minorities in Ukraine" (2494-12), the Supreme Council (Parliament) of Ukraine RESOLVES hereby as follows:
1. The paragraphs below shall be amended by adding the following sentences:
- paragraph one of item 5 of the Regulations on the Passport of a Citizen of Ukraine approved by Resolution of the Supreme Council (Parliament) of Ukraine of 26 June 1992 "On Approval of Regulations on the Passport of a Citizen of Ukraine and the Birth Certificate" (2503-12) (Vidomosti Verkhovnoyi Rady Ukrayiny, 1992, issue 37, page 545) shall be supplemented with a sentence of the following contents: "Citizens, whose national traditions do not envisage recording the patronymic, shall have the right to record only the first name and the last name in the passport";
- paragraph one of item 8 of the Regulations on the Birth Certificate approved by the said Resolution of the Supreme Council (Parliament) of Ukraine (Vidomosti Verkhovnoyi Rady Ukrayiny, 1992, issue 37, page 545) shall be supplemented with a sentence of the following contents: "Citizens, whose national traditions do not envisage recording the patronymic, shall have the right to record only the first name and the last name of a child in the birth certificate".
2. The President of Ukraine shall be advised to bring his decrees into compliance with the Law of Ukraine "On National Minorities in Ukraine".
