Art. 1

Territorial offices are established within the framework of the Department for the Protection of National Minorities in Cluj-Napoca, Suceava and Constanta, subordinate to the Public relations, mass-media and protocol direction.

Art. 2

Two persons authorised with territorial competence, employees of the Department for the Protection of National Minorities complete their activities within the framework of the territorial offices. These positions are included in the total number approved by Government Decree no. 17/1997.

Art. 3

The territorial offices shall function on the territories of the following counties:

a) Cluj Territorial Office: Satu Mare, Bihor, Salaj, Bistrita-Nasaud, Cluj, Mures, Harghita, Covasna, Brasov, Sibiu, Alba, Hunedoara, Timis, Arad.

b) Suceava Territorial Office: Maramures, Suceava, Botosani, Neamt, Bacau, Vaslui, Vrancea.

c) Constanta Territorial Office: Galati, Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Tulcea, Constanta.

Art. 4

The territorial offices maintain permanent relations and co-operate with the authorities of the local public administration in order to identify the specific problems and solve them.

Art. 5

The prefects� offices of Cluj, Suceava and Constanta counties shall ensure the necessary spaces for the functioning of the territorial offices and they bear the maintenance and communication expenses from their own budgets.

Art. 6

The functioning rules of the territorial offices are stated in the Organizational and Functioning Regulation of the Department for the Protection of National Minorities.
